How do I create my profile?

Go to Tools > Options > Profile (Win/Linux) or Wuala > Preferences > Profile. (Mac). The user icon by clicking on "Change image". Either choose one of the icons or click on "Create New Icon". If you click on "Create New Icon", you will need to click on "Open Image". Navigate to the desired image located on your system and click "Open". Adjust the size of your image with the drawer on the right. Click "Ok". Your new icon will be displayed. Choose it and click "Ok". Click "Save" on the right side of the header to register your update.

How do I change my email address?

You can change your email address by going to Tools > Options > Profil (Win/Linux) or Wuala > Preferences > Profile (Mac).

Who can see my email address?

You can define who can see your email address by going to Tools > Options > Profile (Win/Linux) or Preferences > Profile (Mac) (choose email address and click on "edit").

I forgot my password, what now?

You can request your password hint. If your password hint does not help you, we cannot do anything about it. Since your password never leaves your computer, we do not know your password. We cannot recover your password.

Why can't you send me my password?

Wuala encrypts and decrypts all files locally. Your password never leaves your computer, hence, we do not know your password. This protects your privacy, but also means that apart from sending you password hint (specified when creating your account or check your account settings) we cannot help you recovering it.

What is the password hint?

The password hint is a sentence or question that should hint you to your password. Let’s say your password is “venice”. In this case your password hint might be: “Where was my best vacation?” You have specified your password hint when creating your account. Check your account settings to change or modify your password hint.

How do I change my password?

Change your password by going to Tools > Options > Account (Win/Linux) or Wuala > Preferences > Account (Mac). Please note: we do not know your password as it never leaves your computer. We cannot recover it. Please do not forget your password and use the password hint.

Can I change my username?

No, you cannot change your username.

How do I delete my account?

Please write us an email. It is important to state your username and send the email from the email address you specified in Wuala.

Can I add my real name?

Yes, you can. Click on your username in your profile and add your real name. Your friends will now be able to find and recognize you better. Please note that your username is still displayed after your real name.

How can I add my contact details (Homepage, Facebook, XING, etc.)?

Go to Tools > Options > Profile (Win/Linux) or Wuala > Preferences > Profile. (Mac). Click on "Add". Choose the desired service and enter the link of your profile. Choose who may see your contact details; either your friends or everyone. Click on "Ok". Either enter additional contact details or click on "Save".
