Thousands of communities have discovered Wuala and now use it with great enthusiasm for all their file sharing needs. They often have a website or forum, and use Wuala as the place for all their files.
Groups of gamers use it to share user generated level maps and screencasts. Windsurfers exchange action pictures. Small companies use it for all their file sharing needs and collaboration. The Swiss television network uses it to distribute their shows to those who missed them on TV.
Wuala and Facebook, MySpace & Co.
We refer to Wuala as a "social online storage". This is because Wuala makes it really easy for you to share files with friends and in groups: upload files, select your friends or send a link by email. Since you get notifications (think of Facebook's mini-feeds), you will always be updated when your friends share new files with you.
Nevertheless, Wuala is not a social network in itself, but rather complements social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Orkut, Netlog, etc. with a place for all your files. You have your profile (hobbies, friends, wall, etc.) there and your files (great photos, funny PowerPoint presentations, recipes, etc.) in Wuala.
Although Wuala is a multi-purpose tool, we focus on one single topic: perfecting online storage. We build upon and mesh with existing services whenever possible and wherever sensible. This is not only true for social networks, blogs, and websites, but also for chat and VOIP (integrated into Skype), and for desktop apps.
